Coursera Inc.: Social Template Design Systems
This project focused on the creation of flexible social design systems that balanced brand stewardship with the need for more efficient and expressive storytelling. As a contractor, my responsibility extended beyond producing individual assets to building reusable frameworks that could support consistency, adaptability, and long term use across Coursera’s organic social channels.Research centered on how carousel formats could function as cohesive narrative spaces rather than a series of disconnected slides. I examined pacing, visual continuity, and compositional flow to understand how a carousel might read as a single, seamless story. Using Figma, I developed modular, slice based templates that allowed content to scroll fluidly from frame to frame, creating continuity and narrative cohesion distinct from previous Coursera social posts. All components were designed and built in Figma as fully editable systems, enabling rapid iteration, cross team collaboration, and long term scalability. By approaching templates as design systems rather than static assets, this work improved production efficiency while creating space for experimentation within Coursera’s established visual identity.
