These works are folio sized graphite drawings created between 2016 and 2020 and represent an ongoing drawing practice grounded in observation structure and material sensitivity. Working in graphite allows me to focus on value line weight and spatial clarity while maintaining immediacy and restraint. Across subjects ranging from portraiture to character and mechanical form drawing functions as a tool for thinking rather than solely representation.
The portraits emphasize proportion expression and subtle shifts in tone to communicate presence and intimacy. The character drawing explores gesture and exaggeration while maintaining anatomical logic. The aircraft study reflects my interest in systems and engineered form where precision shading and perspective are used to understand structure function and surface.
Together these drawings demonstrate my ability to move fluidly between expressive and technical modes. This practice informs my broader design work by strengthening visual analysis problem solving and material awareness and continues to shape how I approach form narrative and function across disciplines.

"Lola"
- This drawing is an homage to my late grandmother who raised me and passed away in 2020. Through exaggerated character form expressive gesture and integrated hand lettering the piece uses illustration as a narrative device to translate memory care and personal history into visual language. The process moves from graphic pencil exploration to micron pen refinement emphasizing intentional line hierarchy and emotional clarity.
"K.I.C. - Keep It Cozy"
- This drawing was a playful study of cartoon like shapes focusing on rounded forms expressive posture and shading. Working from graphic pencil to micron pen allowed experimentation with volume weight and soft cross hatching while maintaining clarity and personality in the final character.
"A Father's Wish"
- This work was an unpaid commission created for a former coworker and depicts the exact plane his son flew. The drawing emphasizes accuracy controlled line work and measured shading to communicate clarity and respect for the subject matter. It reflects my interest in illustration as a communicative design practice where drawing functions as a means of remembrance through precise visual representation.
