Adema: Live Performance Identity Design

Adema: Live Performance Identity Design
This project involved the rebranding and visual system design for Adema’s 2019 reunion tour, encompassing a redesigned logo, live performance accessories, merchandise, and tour specific graphic assets. The goal was to move away from the band’s outdated visual language, particularly its reliance on dated graphic treatments and blue color usage, and to establish a contemporary identity that aligned more closely with the band’s sound, history, and cultural resonance.

The redesigned logo functioned as the foundation of the system, balancing recognizability with renewal. Rather than erasing the band’s legacy, the rebrand refined and intensified key visual characteristics, allowing the identity to feel current while remaining authentic to the band’s nu metal roots. Tour specific graphics were developed as extensions of this system, designed to adapt across wearable objects, stage environments, and physical merchandise.

The work approached live performance as an active design context, where identity is experienced through motion, lighting, and collective energy. Graphic elements were tested for legibility, impact, and durability within high movement environments, treating merchandise and accessories as mobile artifacts that circulate the identity beyond the stage. This project positions graphic design as a performative system, one that evolves in real time and reinforces the relationship between sound, audience, and visual culture.
